The next meeting of the Ottawa Woodworkers Association is to take place on Tuesday, June 4th, as usual in the basement of the Bethany Baptist Church from 7 PM to 9.  Doors open as early as 6:30, so come early if you would like to help set up.  The church is at the western intersection of Baseline and Centrepoint.  Be sure to bring alternate footwear if it's raining.  Or snowing.

Now Rob has been working on something special, and he does not want a big spoiler.  But here's a little one.  Now if you have just roused from a 20-year coma, go back and and click on "a little one" in the previous sentence to watch the tiny spoiler.

The usual fare will also be part of the meeting.  So, there's show-and-tell, tool swap or sale, and the 50-50 draw.

And then there's the election of OWA officers for 2019-20.  James Ferris has come to the constitutional end of his mandate as president, and thus has to pass the sceptre.  Rob Suarez is also ready to pass the torch as VP-Program Director, and so too are Treasurer Roger Chan and Secretary Jeff Gleeson.  Wayne Richardson is willing to stay on as Public Relations Director.  According to our bylaws all of these positions are open to election.

Since last month the Executive beat the bushes for candidates.  Some OWA members, to whom we are grateful, have come forward to offer their candidature.  So, we have a candidate for President and one for Treasurer.  These positions are nevertheless open to you proposing yourself for these positions.  But where we really need one or more candidates is for the positions of VP-Program Director and Secretary.  C'mon, think on it.  And while we're talking about our annual election, let's thank Brian Greene for agreeing to stuff...er, no, run the voting.
